5-star quarterback Deuce Knight remains committed to Auburn

Five-star high school quarterback Deuce Knight from Mississippi is staying at Auburn.

Knight, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-handed hitter, made the announcement Wednesday morning during a signing ceremony at George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi. He is ranked as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 29 overall player in the 2025 signing class, according to the 247 Sports Composite.

Knight was committed to Notre Dame for several months before transferring to Auburn in early October. He attended several Tigers home games during the 2024 season, but was also spotted at Ole Miss several times.

As it turned out, there was little drama on Wednesday. Knight and his entire family showed up to the signing ceremony wearing Auburn attire. Knight then placed an Auburn hat on his head and said “War Eagle.”

In nine games with George County in 2024, Knight rushed for 2,082 yards and 24 touchdowns with five interceptions while also rushing for 450 yards and nine scores. He missed four regular season games with a hamstring injury, but returned in time to lead the Rebels to the second round of the Mississippi Class 6A playoffs.

Knight was/is one of three 5-star prospects in Auburn’s 2025 signing class, along with Opelika defensive back Malik Autry and Thompson edge rusher Jared Smith. The Tigers’ No. 5 overall class in the country (and fourth in the SEC) started Wednesday.
