Latest recruiting information for 5-star DL Justus Terry

Georgia football and the rest of the college football world have officially made it to National Signing Day. This is always the most interesting day in recruiting, as many players sign with the schools they are committed to, while some are still making their final decisions and even transferring to a new school at the last second.

Kirby Smart and Georgia are still aggressively pursuing one of the most committed recruits in the country, five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry. Terry is a top 10 player in the country and a recruit from Georgia State. Therefore, it is clear how big a gain Georgia would have if they were able to add Terry to their recruiting class.

So where does Georgia stand with Terry? All five Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports favor Georgia, but a late push from Alabama and Auburn is cause for concern. However, as of Monday, Terry has halted his recruitment, so it appears he has made his final decision. What do the recruiting experts say about this recruitment?

The first statement regarding Terry’s recruitment comes from Adam Gorney, the Rivals’ national recruiting director.

“Georgia is still expected to sign the five-star defensive back from Manchester, Georgia, after a strong push from Alabama and a late push from Auburn,” Gorney said, via uga.rivals.com. “It was felt that Terry’s delay was because he wanted to have a big ceremony in his hometown to announce his decision because the Bulldogs are doing well here.”

The rival’s national recruiting analyst, Sam Spiegelman, is also very confident about Georgia’s chances.

“Terry was committed to Georgia and USC – albeit short-lived,” Spiegelman shared via uga.rivals.com. “Since resuming his recruitment before his senior season, the No. 9 overall prospect has focused on Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Auburn. Our prediction remains with the Dawgs focused on keeping Terry in state.”

So there you have it, Georgia still appears to be in a good position to win Terry’s recruitment. Although the early signing period begins on December 4th, Terry has postponed the announcement of his signing until Friday December 6th. So Georgia fans will have to wait a few more days to find out what Terry’s decision is.

But as of today, it looks like Georgia fans can hope they get some good news from Terry on Friday.
