Radio host Charlamagne Tha God clashed with Whoopi Goldberg during “The View” on Wednesday over President Biden’s decision to pardon his son before he leaves the White House.

“I think all the criticism is valid,” Charlamagne said of the heat with which Biden broke a repeated promise. “Democrats stand on this moral high ground all the time, and they act, as you know, so self-righteously.” The reality is that he didn’t have to say anything about whether or not his son wanted to be pardoned.

He continued, “He could have said, ‘Hey, man, that’s not what I’m focused on right now.’ But since they were calling Trump a threat to democracy and saying that no one is above the law, but they were talking about him, that’s what they boiled down to, and when he kept saying things like… “No one is above the law, me.” “Respect the jury’s decision regarding my son.” He didn’t believe it, but he didn’t have to tell that lie in the first place.

Biden pardoned his son on Sunday, drawing criticism from both sides. Most of “The View’s” co-hosts defended the president, especially Goldberg, who insisted that the president had not lied and that as president he could do whatever he wanted.

“I’m going to stop you for a second just because you don’t know it was a lie,” Goldberg said.

Charlamagne asked the co-host, “Do you really think he suddenly changed his mind over Thanksgiving weekend?”

“I think he changed his mind because he got tired of watching everyone else get over it,” Goldberg replied. “At some point you get to the point where you just say, ‘So I’m always going to follow the straight and narrow,’ because that’s what Democrats are expected to do.”

Charlamagne fought back, saying, “This is their fault,” because they were putting themselves on the moral high ground by repeatedly declaring that no one is above the law. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Democrats were “pursuing” the idea of respecting institutions.

She added that Biden has made clear that the Justice Department’s investigation is a political matter and effectively attacks his own administration as politicized.

Goldberg lashed out at Biden critics on Tuesday, saying it was a big problem for Democrats to criticize him.

After further back and forth on the topic, Charlamagne asked, “Why can’t you tell when Democrats are wrong?” He also asked why Republicans can’t tell when Republicans are wrong.

Goldberg said she would tell him if she thought Democrats were wrong, and he replied, “So you don’t think Joe Biden was wrong?” Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin both said they were does not believe that the president is wrong for his actions.

“Well, that’s ridiculous,” Charlamagne said, before Goldberg added, “You’re ridiculous.”
