Southern Indiana is off to a 7-1 start and has won its sixth straight game, having won both games of the Puerto Rico Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. Three players averaged double figures, including junior guard Ali Saunders (13.4 points per game) and senior guard Vanessa Shafford, who averaged a team-high 12.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. USI is averaging 76.0 points per game and shooting 46 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Guard for graduate students Chloe Moore McNeil scored a career-high 22 points as Indiana cruised past Maine 78-53 on Sunday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers shot a season-high 52.6 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the 3-point line, where they made 11 three-pointers.
  • Moore-McNeil is also just a few centimeters closer to her 1,000 markTh career point as she surpassed the 900-point mark on Sunday. Her 22 points increased her career tally to 912 total points in her five seasons with the Hoosiers.
  • Junior striker Lilly Master As a junior guard, he also scored in double figures (18 points, nine rebounds). Yarden Garzon chipped in 11. Garzon is the team’s leading scorer with 13.4 points per game while Meister adds 11.6 ppg. including four games with double-digit scoring.
  • The Hoosiers also had a season-high 25 assists on 30 shots made in Sunday’s win over the Black Bears. Garzon and junior guard Shay Ciezki each dealt seven in victory.
  • IU also hosted its own block party on Sunday afternoon, recording a season-high nine blocks against Maine. Master led the way by three shots while Garzon and the sophomore stood guard Julianna LaMendola added two each.
