Drew Barrymore surprises Ariana Grande with the Wizard of Oz Glinda wand.

Drew Barrymore is definitely a good witch.

The actress and talk show host worked magic The Drew Barrymore Show, surprising Evil Star Ariana Grande with the original Glinda wand from the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz.

Grande portrays Glinda in Evil, the new film adaptation of the successful Broadway musical, which serves as a prequel to L. Frank Baum’s musical Wizard of Oz, tells the backstory of Glinda and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), the Wicked Witch of the West.

Glinda is a bit obsessed with wands, so Barrymore brought out the ultimate one. “I have something that is extremely exciting and special,” she told Grande. “It actually belonged to the Smithsonian and now it’s privately owned. But for the purposes of our meeting, they lent it to us.”

“Bring out the original Glinda wand, please,” Barrymore instructed her crew as Grande sat in shock and disbelief.

“Are you serious?” Grande asked before pretending to run off the set with his wand and saying, “Thank you so much, it was fun. Yes, I’m kidding. I’m kidding.”

Barrymore noted that the pink-clad Grande seemed tailor-made for this piece of film history. “You look so perfect in that,” Barrymore told her.

“How did you even do that, how did you do that?” Grande stared at him. Barrymore explained that as soon as they knew Grande would be a guest, the entire crew and production team gathered to get the original wand as a special gift for Grande and the viewers.

Unfortunately, Grande couldn’t keep the wand, which was on loan from its owners. But maybe it will resurface when she clicks her heels together three times.

The pop star has a long relationship with the character Glinda and fell in love with the series as a child when her mother took her to see the original cast on Broadway. Grande and Broadway’s original Glinda, Kristin Chenoweth, have had a close bond for years — and Chenoweth got to officially pass the magic wand (and make a brief cameo) in the debut of the new film, which is breaking box office records.
