It was also a very special moment for Johnson when her husband – Season 32 Mirrorball champion Val Chmerkovskiy – and his former dance partner Xochitl Gomez presented the two with their shiny new trophies.

“I don’t know if this has ever happened in the history of ‘Dancing With the Stars,'” Johnson told Page Six of the celebratory moment for her family. “I can’t wait to see this video. So many people told me they made a video of him handing it out and celebrating. I just really appreciate Val and this whole process.”

“I’m just so, so grateful. “It was my favorite season ever,” she continued. “To be able to share this moment with Joey and now have one of these (trophies) that we get to share forever is crazy.”

Meanwhile, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro revealed that “this was the least tense season” when it came to who would win the prize.

“I really believed that anyone could win. There was no clear winner,” he told Page Six exclusively in the ballroom. “There was no one who could match the fan vote, the emotional vote or what they did on the floor. I could make a case for every single one of them.”

Additionally, the show broke several records this season as viewers at home took the time to vote for their favorite dance duo each week.

“I firmly believe that ‘Dancing With the Stars’ is back! Hopefully we can get next season on the air quickly and keep this momentum going,” teased Ribeiro, who co-hosts the series with Julianne Hough.
