Kelly Powers, Fox News contributor with brain cancer, dies at 45

Dr. Kelly Powers, a doctor and surgeon who contributed to several Fox News shows, has died. She was 45.

The medical expert was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020. Although she went into remission, the cancer returned in 2024 and she died on Sunday, December 1st.

“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere,” her obituary reads. “Kelly loved people and was committed to helping others.”

Before her death, Powers appeared on television on Fox News. Red eyes, Fox & friends And The Willis Report.

During her battle with glioblastoma, Powers underwent three brain surgeries as well as multiple rounds of radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy, according to a GoFundMe that has since been deactivated.

In addition to her professional activities, Powers’ hobbies included gardening, surfing, ballet, cycling, running, horseback riding and traveling.

But her obituary said: “Most important to her was her family.”

Powers was pregnant with her son Bennett, now 3, during treatment. She described herself as “the luckiest unlucky girl” after her cancer went into remission, and she also joked that her treatment left her with the same haircut as her newborn son.

TV personality Meghan McCain, who lost her father John McCain to glioblastoma in 2018, paid tribute to Powers.

“Sending so much love, light and prayers to Dr. Power’s family and loved ones,” the former said view cohost wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Glioblastoma is a pure, unadulterated evil that no person or family should have to endure. My family is here for you if you need anything.”

Powers is survived by her husband Steven Doll, Bennett, her parents and her in-laws.
