College football shocker leaves billionaire’s wife, 47 years his junior

It turns out billionaire Larry Ellison’s new wife is the missing link behind his investments in college football at the University of Michigan.

Football advocates credited Ellison, 80 – the fourth-richest man in the world and founder of cloud software company Oracle – as a key financial force in poaching top high school quarterback Bryce Underwood from Louisiana State University. Supporters also thanked Ellison’s wife, a 33-year-old woman named Jolin, who also goes by Keren Zhu, reported The Wall Street Journal.

“I would like to personally thank Larry and his wife Jolin, who were instrumental in making this possible,” said Nate Forbes, Chair of the Champions Circle Supporters Collective.

The diary reported that Zhu is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in 2012. The outlet also reported that Zhu’s name appears on a property owned by Ellison owned by Octopus Holdings.

Although Ellison has not publicly confirmed that he has married for the fifth time, several sports officials have acknowledged Jolin’s influence on Ellison’s decision-making.

Jolin and Ellison reportedly promoted Underwood in person on a Zoom call with Bryce and his father Jay. Ellison talked about his childhood on Chicago’s South Side and Jolin reportedly expressed interest in bringing the Michigan Wolverines back to the top of the football world.

“It wasn’t really a pitch,” Jay said.

He added: “I think a happy wife, a happy life.”

Retired quarterback Tom Brady, another Michigan graduate, also reportedly called Underwood to advocate for him to attend the school.

Ellison was previously married to Adda Quinn in 1967, who divorced in 1974, and to Nancy Wheeler Jenkins in 1977, who divorced in 1978. Jenkins reportedly sold her shares back to Ellison’s company SDL, which later became Oracle, for $500.

Ellison then married Barbara Boothe from 1983 to 1986 and had two children with her before marrying romance novelist Melanie Craft in 2003 – with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs as their wedding photographer. They divorced in 2010.
