The wind chill is the coldest in about 10 months, but we’ll hit the 50 degree mark on Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS –

Arctic front hits central Indiana

Central Indiana definitely felt the effects of a strong Arctic front with wind gusts over 60 mph and wind chills below zero.

Eagle Creek Airport: measured 64 miles per hour

Indianapolis International Airport: measured 62 miles per hour

Purdue: measured 59 miles per hour

While there was a sudden freeze that impacted side and neighborhood streets and parking lots, we missed the steadier bursts of snow. This means that the roads are mostly clear and are expected to remain so. The only exception is areas northeast of Indianapolis. A few lake effect snow showers are possible in this area. The heaviest lake effect snow will remain in northeast Indiana.

It will be another cold night with lows of 10-15 degrees.
