LeBron James and JJ Redick suffer “embarrassing” loss to Heat

The Los Angeles Lakers feel like they could be headed for a free fall after another tough loss. This time the team lost to the Miami Heat, but it wasn’t the fact that they lost the game that was bothersome, but rather the way in which it happened.

Miami beat the Lakers by 41 points, the final score was 134-93. After the game, the team looks a bit dejected about another defeat.

This was the second game in a row that the Lakers were blown off the court, and it seemed to hit head coach JJ Redick very hard. Redick lashed out at his team, saying everyone needed to take responsibility for the embarrassing loss.

“There has to be some ownership,” he said after a long pause when asked what his message was to his team after such a defeat. “When a group isn’t doing well… you can become splintered and it’s easy to not want ownership, especially if it’s embarrassing. I’m embarrassed, we’re all embarrassed. It’s not a game where I thought we had the right fight, the right professionalism.”

“There has to be some ownership on the field,” Redick continued. “And I take on all the responsibility in the world. This is my team and I lead it. I’m embarrassed, but I can’t organize us physically. I physically can’t be the basketball player. I can’t do that.” And by the way, I don’t blame the players, but we also need some personal responsibility on the pitch.

“I don’t feel like we’re together right now.”

Lakers star LeBron James also commented on the recent defeat.

“It sucks,” James said. “In any case. Making your ass cry like that twice in a row.”

James said he wants the Lakers to remain balanced even after this latest setback.

“You always stay balanced… Stay balanced,” James said. “I’ve been in this game for far too long. Never get too high, never too low. Because I know how quickly things move.”

Los Angeles now holds a 12-10 season record and things have looked bad lately. They found it difficult to win games or come out in the second half with the same fire they had in the first half.

It’s caused all sorts of problems and the Lakers look a lot like the team they were a year ago. Even though it’s still early, it could be another lost year for the Lakers if nothing changes.
