AND HAPPY THURSDAY TO YOU. FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON AND LOOK AT IT IN THE HIGHER ALTITUDES OF WORCESTER COUNTY. SIX INCHES IN WARREN. FIVE AND A HALF IN HUBBARDSTON, FITCHBURG. ABOUT 10 INCHES OF SNOW. LOWER AMOUNTS BUT STILL HALF AN INCH OF SNOW. THIS RAIN-SNOW LINE IS COMPLETELY PUSHED DOWN NEAR 44. ON THE SOUTH COAST CAPE AND ISLANDS other places it really is mostly rain with a few inches of snow, especially on the unpaved areas until you get closer to 495 MERRIMACK VALLEY. LOTS OF METRO WEST IN THE WORCESTER AREA. HERE WE’RE SEEING 5 TO UP TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW. And with the height of the WORCESTER HILLS, WE’RE TALKING ABOUT SOME PLACES THAT HAVE 4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW. ONE OR TWO OF THE HIGHEST FIGURES CAN ONLY BE A LITTLE HIGHER. This has obviously impacted your morning commute. BUT LOOK AT THE TEMPERATURES. YOU CAN SEE THEM RUNNING IN THE MID 30’S IN 495. SO A LOT OF SNOW FALLS. AND THE ROADS ARE JUST STAYING GREAT WET. So keep that in mind when you head there. SHIFT HERE TO THE WESTERN PART OF THE STATE. So I think that will shift offshore by around 10:00 this morning. It’s just one thing we’re dealing with today as we’ll be watching for snow squalls between 12pm and 4pm. NOT EVERYONE WILL SEE THEM. It will be a success or a failure. BUT IF YOU ARE IN ONE OF THESE, YOU CAN SEE VISIBILITY DECREASE SIGNIFICANTLY DUE TO A SHORT PUSH OF SNOW. So keep that in mind. I will also watch the wind. YOU WILL PICK UP THIS AFTERNOON. AT THE HIGHER ALTITUDES, EVIL COULD BE RIGHT 50 MPH. AND ON CAPE COD WHERE A WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10:00 PM AND THE WIND WILL BRING COLD, LOWERING WIND COOL CAPABILITIES TO THE SETTINGS. AND TEENS TONIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW. LET ME TAKE YOU THROUGH THE SCHEDULE. There is morning snow here with some rain moving out to sea around 10am this morning. And there is a slight pause in the action. BUT AROUND NOON we’ll start to see those snow showers and squalls move into the western part of the state. They will drift east into the afternoon, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will hit some areas. OTHER AREAS WILL NOT BE SEEN. But this risk remains with us until around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. And then they should move away from the coast as the colder air moves in with westerly winds and the skies start to clear. So be prepared for an afternoon snowstorm or something. And then the sky clears and gives way to the stronger winds. TONIGHT temperatures will begin to drop as the Arctic front moves in. That’s what causes the squalls. Look at the temperatures behind it. TEN IN MINNEAPOLIS THIS MORNING, 12 IN CHICAGO. And that is the air working in our direction. So you can feel the wind blowing late in the day with gusts of 40 to 80 km/h. AND THAT WILL BEAT THE WIND BACK, THE WIND WILL COOL, THE WIND WILL STAY OVERNIGHT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING. THIS WIND REPORT UNTIL 10:00 THIS EVENING THROUGH THE HIGHER Elevations AND CAPE AND ISLANDS. AND THAT MEANS IF YOU GO TO BOSTON COMMON FOR THE HOLIDAY LIGHTS, YOU MUST BE READY FOR THE WIND. It will be gusty, and even though temperatures will be in the 30s, with these stronger winds it will feel like the 20s. In fact the wind will drop to over 20°C this evening. BUT IN THE MORNING YOU’LL FEEL LIKE SINGLES AND TEENS. So be prepared as skies clear this evening and temperatures drop to as low as 20°C. TOMORROW WILL BE A MUCH COLDER DAY. Upper 20s to around freezing temperatures with sunshine. It’s windy and cold. This wind keeps the teens cold most of the day, noting that temperatures don’t get much better. So the cold is with us into the weekend. The wind should gradually ease on Saturday, and as Sunday approaches more wind will move north. This could trigger a few showers or showers, especially north of the Pike. THEN WE WAIT FOR THE WARMER TEMPERATURES TO COME IN AND LOOK AT IT. We’re talking about rain on Monday
