Latest forecast from Storm Team 4

Snow squalls are fast-moving, intense weather systems. They move through quickly but can cause strong winds and poor visibility.

If you get caught in a snow squall, the National Weather Service recommends reducing speed, making sure your headlights are on, using extra caution and allowing extra time.

We will continue to see occasional rain and snow showers throughout the day, but most will be lighter.

Winds will continue to increase today through midday and afternoon. Gusts of up to 80 km/h are possible. Wind warnings are in effect for the tri-state area until 10 p.m. The warning applies to portions of southern Connecticut, northeastern New Jersey and southeastern New York.

Tomorrow it will remain windy and cold, until Saturday the wind will die down a bit.

Temperatures will begin to reverse on Sunday and continue to warm through early next week.

The milder air means it will be all rain for the next few systems. Towards the end of next week, temperatures will drop again, back into the 40s.
