Louisville Basketball begins the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis today against a cross-state rival, No. 15 Indiana.

The Cardinals (3-1) and Hoosiers (4-0) will meet for the 22nd time in the opening round of the eight-team tournament at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas.

First-year U of L coach Pat Kelsey is aiming for win No. 1 against a quality opponent at the top; While IU’s Mike Woodson will look for his third straight win at his alma mater, the team is 12-9 since 1921.

This year marks the first time since 2017-18 that Louisville and Indiana will face each other in back-to-back seasons. They met last November in the third-place game of the Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden; A game now best remembered by Kelsey’s predecessor, Kenny Payne, who said Woodson “tricked” him by using a zone defense to spark the Hoosiers’ late surge to a 74-66 win.

The Cards will play either No. 4 Gonzaga or West Virginia in Round 2 of the Battle 4 Atlantis. If they beat IU, they will play at noon on Thanksgiving Day. If they lose, they play at 2:30 p.m

On the other side of the bracket: No. 23 Arizona, Davidson, Oklahoma and Providence.

Betting odds: Louisville is a 2 ½ point underdog (-110) at BetMGM, with the over/under at 154 ½ points (-110).

Outcome Predictions: KenPom.com gives IU a 61% chance of winning and projects a final score of 77-73 in his favor. BartTorvik.com also projects the Hoosiers to win (63%) with a projected final score of 81-78.

The game between the Cards and Hoosiers will be broadcast on ESPN, channel 602 on AT&T U-Verse; Channel 206 on DirecTV; Channel 140 on Dish; and channel 506 on Spectrum.
