Two were flown to hospitals in Indy and one was arrested after the incident in Terre Haute | Local News

An adult and a juvenile were flown to Indianapolis for medical treatment after becoming unconscious from ingesting a substance on Dec. 1, and the adult was subsequently arrested.

According to Terre Haute police, 28-year-old Michael E. Baker of Terre Haute was arrested. Baker is tentatively charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of a tampered weapon.

Police and firefighters were called to the area of ​​North 19th Street and Beech Street around 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 1 for a report of an unknown problem that left at least one person incapacitated, THPD said in a news release.

The emergency services found a teenager who was unconscious. Fire department paramedics initiated life-saving measures and took the teenager to a local hospital. The teen was then flown to an Indianapolis-area hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers also discovered a second individual named Baker unresponsive near his recreational vehicle. Baker received medical treatment and was also flown to an Indianapolis hospital.

Police determined that Baker allegedly provided the juvenile with a substance for consumption, which he also used himself.

Additionally, Baker was found to have an altered firearm, police said.

After recovering and receiving medical clearance, Baker was arrested.
