HAMDEN, Conn. – The Bobcats will return home for the first time since November 9thTh as they welcome the RPI Engineers and Union Garnet Chargers to M&T Bank Arena. Both games are scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop and can be viewed on ESPN+.

Tied up in the Big Apple

  • #18 Quinnipiac and #11 Cornell competed in the Frozen Apple 2024 at Madison Square Garden and ended in a 3-3 draw.
  • The Big Red led 2-0 after the first 20 minutes, but the Bobcats stormed in the second period, scoring two goals in the first 4:55 of the second frame.
  • Cooper Moore scored the Bobcats’ third goal of the middle period at 2:00 p.m. Cornell wouldn’t tie the game until 1:15 into the third minute and the score stayed the same until overtime.

GO NATIONAL

  • First-year forward Chris Pelosi has been named to the U.S. Junior National Team preliminary roster, USA Hockey announced Dec. 2nd.
  • The IIHF World Junior Championships will take place starting December 26thTh until January 5thTh in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
  • Pelosi, a draft pick of the Boston Bruins, scored two goals and recorded three assists in his first season in Hamden.

CAPTAIN TRAV

  • Student and captain Travis Treloar has started its league season strong, collecting six points in seven ECAC contests to begin its final conference season. Treloar recorded three assists in Quinnipiac’s win over Yale (November 16).
  • He became the first Bobcat this season to record three assists in a game, surpassing his previous collegiate high of two, which he achieved five times during his time in Hamden and at Ohio State.

MISTER. 1100

  • November 2nd was Rand PecknoldIt was the 1,100th game behind the bench for the Bobcats as they faced Holy Cross. In his 31st season with the team, he earned 644 wins, the most of any active Division I coach in the country.
  • He is one of four active coaches, along with Rick Gotkin, Frank Serratore and Bob Daniels, and one of 14 coaches all-time to achieve this mark.

E.G. MONEY

  • First-year defenseman and Boston Bruins draft pick Elliott Groenewold showed off his 200-foot game early in his college career, leading the team in both blocks and game-winning goals in the first 13 contests.
  • He has blocked a team-best 20 shots while also scoring two game-winning goals, scoring the game-winning goal on November 2nd at Holy Cross and most recently on November 15th at Brown.

Where there is a Wilme, there is a way

  • Jeremy Wilmer began his Bobcat career with a multi-goal effort against Penn State, scoring the first and third goals of the night in a 3-2 win on October 12.
  • Wilmer leads the team with 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in thirteen games this season. He currently ranks fifth in the conference with 0.77 assists per game.

BY THE RICKETTS

  • PhD student Jack Ricketts brings an outstanding scoring talent to the Bobcats for his final year of college hockey and currently has nine game-winning goals to his name.
  • He was also the nation’s top active scorer in Division I at the start of the year, currently with 49 goals.
