The Packers rule out four games against the Lions

GREEN BAY – The Packers have ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), receiver Romeo Doubs (concussion), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) and cornerback Corey Ballentine (knee) for Thursday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Alexander practiced in a limited capacity on Monday and Tuesday before presumably not participating on Wednesday. The team conducted a walkthrough instead of a traditional exercise.

The seventh-year cornerback first injured his knee on Oct. 27 in Jacksonville before aggravating it in a 10-snap appearance in Chicago last month.

Doubs was listed as limited all week, but head coach Matt LaFleur said during his press conference on Tuesday that the third-year wideout had not yet cleared concussion protocol.

Cooper will miss his third straight game, but the Packers are expected to have fellow linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (ankle) available after he was upgraded to full participation on Wednesday. The fourth-year linebacker made a game-winning decision on Thanksgiving but finished with 10 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble in Green Bay’s 30-17 win over Miami.

In addition to McDuffie, Green Bay has not released game status for the following players who are expected to be available: running back Josh Jacobs (calf), defensive lineman Kenny Clark (rest), tight end John FitzPatrick (back), guard/tackle Elgton Jenkins (knee), center Josh Myers (pectoral muscle), tackle Rasheed Walker (knee) and defensive lineman Colby Wooden (shoulder).

The Lions have ruled out tackle Taylor Decker (knee), defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring), defensive lineman Josh Paschal (knee) and defensive lineman DJ Reader (shoulder).

Cornerback Carlton Davis III (knee) and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring) have not received playing status and are expected to be available.
