Jayden Reed has been an underrated contributor to the Packers’ offense this season, particularly in the red zone. Expect him to hit paydirt on Thursday night against the Lions.

Thursday night’s matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions promises to be one of the biggest games of the year. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.

The high sum is a good sign, at least from an entertainment perspective. It is also positive for those who like to bet on the “Touchdown Anytime” props. And let’s face it, that’s everyone.

With a score of over 50 points and plenty of playmakers on the field, there are seven players who are less than 2/1 to score a touchdown on Thursday night.

I size up these NFC North opponents and give my top Packers vs. Lions touchdown picks any time tonight.

Packers can pick a touchdown at any time

+150 on FanDuel

As of late Wednesday afternoon, WR Romeo Doubs is still suffering from a concussion, and that doesn’t bode well for that status on Thursday.

Last week, with Doubs out, Jayden Reed capitalized on his performance improvement with three catches on six targets – two for touchdowns in the win over Miami on Thanksgiving.

Reed doesn’t get as many runs as guys like Doubs and Christian Watson, but he’s a proven threat in the red zone. He ranks second on the team in RZ targets with nine and completed seven of those passes (five for touchdowns) inside the 20-yard line.

We also saw the speedy 5-foot-11 Reed used as a runner, totaling 128 rushing yards on 18 carries and a touchdown in Week 1.

Reed’s Week 14 projections are between 0.3 and 0.4 touchdowns against the Detroit Lions, and that’s without taking Doubs’ possible absence into account. In some shops it is already listed as +130, but FanDuel states +150.

Lions can pick a touchdown at any time

Sam LaPorta at any time for a touchdown
+240 on FanDuel

My Packers vs. Lions predictions are for Sam LaPorta to score a total of 3.5 points in this game considering he has scored a total of 18 goals in the last three weeks. LaPorta also had a great performance on Thanksgiving Day, scoring two touchdowns in the win over Chicago.

Quarterback Jared Goff raved about his tight end after that game, and he and head coach Dan Campbell talked about LaPorta’s role in this offense now that he’s fully healthy.

The Lions’ second-year TE has been hampered by injuries in training camp and the first few weeks of the schedule, but is still second in red zone targets with 12 for eight receptions and four touchdowns inside the 20-yard line.

Facing a Green Bay Packers defense that has allowed a strong team to compete with tight ends, LaPorta has four touchdowns. Green Bay is also weak in the middle, missing some key linebackers to cover Thursday night.

His player projections for Week 14 are 0.3 to 0.4 touchdowns against the Cheeseheads, which should result in a “Touchdown Anytime” price of around +180. Most books have LaPorta under 2/1, but FanDuel gives a great return on the Lions TE, finding paydirt at +240 for the second straight year.
