It will be uncomfortable in Essen on Thursday and Friday. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of heavy rain and gusts of wind.

Essen expects stormy and rainy days. Thursday (December 5th) and Friday (December 6th) are forecast to remain very cloudy. Rain is also moving across the country from the west.

In this context, the German Weather Service (DWD) warns of continuous rain in the south of the city. Precipitation amounts between 30 l/m² and 45 l/m² are expected. This creates a risk of isolated flooding of streets and underpasses.

The DWD therefore recommends adapting your behavior in traffic to the current weather conditions and avoiding flooded sections. The warning applies to Thursday (1 p.m.) and Friday (2 p.m.).

In addition, the DWD has issued an official warning of gusts of wind for the south and north of the city. From Thursday (10 p.m.) to Friday (6 a.m.) there may be wind gusts of up to 60 km/h from the southwest. In exposed locations, gusts of up to 70 km/h must be expected.

The DWD therefore warns of the danger of flying light objects. It is therefore recommended to secure loose items and attach tents and covers.
