MARIBEL GONZALEZ, WMUR NEWS NINE. AND TONIGHT we spoke with a Granite State native who had moved to Arcata, California just a few months ago and was feeling shattered. Kind of like what hit this home here. A DIFFERENT VIEW OF WHAT’S GOING ON WITH THIS 7.0. PETER RHODES SAYS HE WAS AT WORK WHEN THIS QUAKE HAPPENED. I look up and see the lights are shaking. ONLY THE WHOLE BUILDING MOVES UP, LEFT AND RIGHT. I didn’t really know what to do. I stood there kind of shocked because I’ve never experienced an earthquake before. I didn’t know what was going on.

A New Hampshire native who recently moved to Arcata, California, experienced a magnitude 7 earthquake that shook Northern California on Thursday. Just the whole building up, down, left and right. I didn't really know what to do. I just stood there in shock because I did it "I've never been in an earthquake before. I didn't know what was going on," said Rhoades. The earthquake is the largest to hit the United States this year.

“I look up; I see that the lights are shaking. Just the whole building up, down, left and right. I didn’t really know what to do. I just stood there in shock because I’ve never been in a situation like that before. “I didn’t know what was going on before,” Rhoades said.

The earthquake is the worst to hit the United States this year.
