“Thank you to the volunteers”: FCA recognizes commitment

Honor at the last home game

Without the valuable support of voluntary work, the diverse club life in Germany would be unthinkable. Volunteer Day on December 5th offers a special opportunity to thank everyone who gives their heart and time. Together with the DFB, the DFL and all top clubs, a big “thank you” is traditionally expressed during a Bundesliga match day.

To the home game against VfL Bochum, FC Augsburg invited volunteers from the Bavarian Football Association Swabia district as well as holders of the Bavarian volunteer card from the city and district of Augsburg as well as the Aichach-Friedberg district to experience the party live in the stadium – a sign of the Appreciation. During the half-time break, Managing Director Michael Ströll honored seven volunteers who will celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2024.

Volunteering at FCA

Since the 2008/09 season, an average of around 40 volunteers have supported the organization and implementation of FCA’s home games. You will take on tasks in the areas of ticket clearing, issuing stadium couriers, greenkeeping, membership status, guest service and the KidsClub lap of honor. They are also active at KidsClub events and promotional campaigns outside of match days. In addition, other volunteer positions are active as blind reporters and at the first point of contact, Wellenbrecher, at FCA home games. This is an association of volunteer fans, employees of the Augsburg fan project of the Augsburg city youth ring and the fan representatives of FC Augsburg. The team offers support for anyone who experiences sexism and/or sexual violence during an FCA match day – regardless of gender.

Last but not least, a big thank you goes to the volunteers who are active in the women’s and girls’ teams for the club and who provide valuable commitment on and off the pitch.

FC Augsburg is regularly looking for committed people who would like to take part in a “Voluntary Social Year in Sport” or who would like to volunteer. Further information and advertised positions are available on the FCA homepage. Applications for volunteer work can be sent with the completed application form to [email protected].

People who are already involved in volunteer work can find further information and the advantages of the Bavarian Volunteer Card here.
