As you enter Chad Robins’ home, the famous scenes from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” come to life in his living room.

“This is our Rudolph room,” Robins said during a tour of his Christmas display. “We have our opening credits scene, Rudolph and his family.”

Robins’ collection spans the shelves of his home and ranges from figurines to trains, trees and trinkets.

“At some point we will need a bigger house. At this point we’re full, but there’s always room for one more,” he told 12 On Your Side.

In the early 2000s, Robins began searching for memorabilia, a passion that started with a Black Friday giveaway.

“They were giving out Rudolph figurines, so we got all four that day, and I suddenly had a desire to collect as many as I could,” he said.

Over the past two decades, Robins has built his collection, which has resulted in colorful exhibitions.

“I look for flea markets, sometimes Goodwill, just anywhere you see stuff that people didn’t realize was collectible,” he said. “The interesting thing about it is that it’s different from a light display that people have in their yard but no one sees.”

Ultimately, Robins wants to release this somewhere everyone can enjoy it while sharing their love for the beloved holiday character.

“Rudolph is special to me,” he said. “I think everyone has a little Rudolph inside them that makes them feel like they’ve been bullied or like an outsider. The things we think make us outcasts turn out to be our greatest gifts to the world.”
