In their technical review of the MachineGames-developed action-adventure title, now available in Early Access for those who purchase one of the game’s special editions, Digital Foundry highlighted that the game is an impressive ray tracing showcase on both current Microsoft generations represents consoles, thanks to its main visual feature, diffuse global illumination with ray tracing. This is used to calculate the indirect illumination of light sources such as the sun, making the lighting look incredibly natural in almost any scene. In some scenes shown in the video below, RTGI makes scenes with outside light look incredible, with no light leakage or gaps in the lighting. What’s even more impressive is how clean it looks, although there are slight image quality stability issues when moving the camera quickly, and the fact that the game is on the Xbox Series. The design uses Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s lighting system Ray tracing was also an excellent choice for the game’s environment, as Indy explores many locations with natural light, which greatly enhances the experience and makes the entire game a feast for the eyes.

MachineGames also managed to get the game to run decently on the Xbox Series S using RTGI. Not surprisingly, some compromises had to be made, such as: B. reducing the resolution to 1080p and below, but in general it’s quite doable to experience Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on the system, even with some image quality issues caused by a disappointing implementation of variable rate shading, lower texture quality and more.
