Meet Nick Dumont: The ‘Oppenheimer’ Actor Comes Out as Transgender and Updates His Pronouns

Nick Dumont, the actor who played Jackie Oppenheimer Oppenheimerhas come out as transmasculine and non-binary.

As TMZ first reported on Thursday, the actor recently changed his pronouns and name in his Instagram bio. Although her username is still @emmadumont, her name is now listed on her profile as Nick Dumont and her pronouns are listed as “they/them.” Her bio includes a collection of heart emojis that appear to correspond to the lesbian and non-binary flags, as well as the phrases “Carmy codes,” as in the main character of The bearand “McCutcheon apologist,” as in the original’s polarizing antihero Shane L word. This is a transmasculine, non-binary Instagram bio if we’ve ever seen one.

Although Dumont has changed their pronouns and names on their Instagram profile, they have not yet posted their coming out directly on social media. A rep for the actor told TMZ that he identifies “as a transmasculine, non-binary person.” “Their working name will still be Emma Dumont, but friends and family will call them Nick,” the spokesperson said.

Even before officially confirming his identity to TMZ, the actor clearly seemed to be dropping hints on social media. Dumont first posted a picture of himself with close-cropped hair on May 26 this year with the caption, “Your favorite sweetheart’s favorite.” (And yes, they confirmed in the comments that it was a Chappell Roan reference.) Since then, they’ve also made several other posts in which they sported short hair and more androgynous clothing, often with big smiles on their faces. And Dumont went all in on the McCutcheon apologist part, dressing up as Shane for Halloween this year.
