A sci-fi horror film starring Megan Fox is being praised by Netflix viewers following its release on the platform, despite receiving negative reviews from critics upon its initial release.

Submissiveness was released on Netflix on December 5th after being shown in theaters in September. In it, Fox plays an android named Alice who gains consciousness and becomes hostile toward the family he serves.

Directed by SK Dale, the film also stars Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth, Jude Allen Greenstein and Andrew Whipp and was originally written by Will Honley and April Maguire. It’s Fox’s first role since then Expend4bles in 2023.

When the film was released in September, critics were not too kind; It currently has a critic rating of 48 percent on the film review site Rotten Tomatoes. Cinema audiences weren’t too impressed either, only receiving an approval rating of 56 percent.

However, it seems to have found a following on Netflix, with viewers who have seen the film praising Fox’s effort.
