The seven-minute film is a touching and intimate portrait of the popular actor, who has appeared in films such as “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, “Bye Bye Birdie” and the TV show “Diagnosis: Murder”.

He gives the filmmakers a tour of his house and shows memorabilia from his films – including a life-size replica of Bert, his chimney sweep character from Mary Poppins.

The star also recreates himself The Twizzle (an incredibly flexible routine from his 1960s TV sitcom “The Dick Van Dyke Show”) while Chris Martin serenades him on the patio of his home; and dances barefoot with his wife Arlene Silver.

The most emotional moment, however, comes when he talks about his four children, Christian, Barry, Stacy and Carrie Beth.

Looking lovingly at a photo of Stacy being read to her a bedtime story, Van Dyke reveals, “I’ve had dreams where I was depressed, lonely, hurting, and she comes to comfort me. She actually comes to comfort me.”

“That makes me so grateful. It’s a big deal for me.”

The video premiered on the band’s YouTube channel. A shorter version will be released on December 13th to mark Van Dyke’s 99th birthday.
