TEMPE, Ariz. – The Texas A&M volleyball team opens its postseason campaign Friday night by taking on Colorado State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Desert Financial Arena. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m

The Aggies secured qualification for the NCAA Tournament on the 27thTh For the first time in their history and for the second time in a row under head coach Jamie Morrison‘s leadership. After a 19-7 record in the regular season and a 10-6 record in SEC play, the Maroon & White secured a No. 6 seed for the postseason and will face the Rams in the tournament opener.

A&M enters the game against Colorado State with a lot of momentum, having won its last four games while only losing two sets. The Rams have also won four straight, including two games to clinch the Mountain West regular season title, followed by back-to-back victories to secure the conference tournament crown.

Friday’s game is the 10thTh Meeting between the programs and the first in nine years. The Rams hold a 6-3 lead in the all-time series, but A&M won its last home game in 2015, 3-2, in a five-set shootout. The teams will meet in the first round at a neutral site, where both have a 2-0 record this season.

The Maroon & White are led into the tournament by two All-SEC First Team selections Logan Lednicky And Ifenna Cos-Okpalla were named to the 2024 All-SEC First Team. This was Lednicky’s third consecutive All-SEC selection, while Cos-Okpalla earned her first SEC postseason award selection.

Entering the tournament, the Aggies rank among the nation’s leaders in four statistical categories, including 26th in assists per set (12.94), 35th in blocks per set (2.54), 38th . Place in hitting percentage (.256) and 43rd in kills per set (13.61).
