Snow squalls and blizzards make for treacherous travel as a winter storm hits the Northeast’s Great Lakes

On Friday, snowfall in the Northeast will ease after a heavy snowfall winter The storm ends its race over the USlife-threatening Snow squalls And Blizzard Conditions for regions struck by the first signifier Snowstorm with lake effect of the season.

The FOX Forecast Center said gradual warming should limit the chance of snow over the weekend. However, a fast-moving clipper ship will pass over New England Saturday through Sunday, causing some disruption to travel and rapid snowfall.

Because the snow is moving quickly, snow totals are expected to only be about 3 to 5 inches of additional snow. This clipper ship is expected to sail into the Atlantic late Sunday.

The threat of flooding is increasing as tropical showers inundate Texas on the Gulf Coast for days

A weeks-long dry spell across Texas and the northern Gulf Coast is coming to an end this week as torrential rain and thunderstorms threaten the region over the next few days.

The FOX Forecast Center said a weak low pressure system is expected to develop near the coast, helping usher in a surge of moisture from the southern Gulf of Mexico.

The tsunami threat to the coasts of Northern California and Oregon ends after a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake

A magnitude of 7.0 earthquake off the coast of Northern California triggered a rare event Tsunami Warning for coastal areas near CaliforniaOregon State border, including San Francisco Bay.

According to the US Geological Survey, a strong 7.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded around 10:44 a.m. PT about 60 miles off the coast of Ferndale, California.

According to the FOX Forecast Center, the magnitude 7.0 quake is the strongest in the region since at least 2005, when it was a magnitude 7.2.

Watch: Thunderstorms rumble across several states during a winter storm
