Macaulay Culkin says his son “thinks he’s Kevin” from Home Alone and yes, that’s adorable

Macaulay Culkin’s three-year-old son is going through what appears to be a very adorable identity crisis.

Culkin’s son Dakota, who he shares with his fiancée Brenda Song, has not only seen his father’s beloved ’90s Christmas classic Home Alone, but he actually thinks so Is Culkin’s signature character Kevin McCallister.

“He thinks he’s Kevin,” Macaulay told E! News added in an interview published Thursday that his son literally believes he, like McCallister in the film, rode a sleigh down the stairs, has blonde hair and “fought the burglars” himself.

At that point, Culkin had no choice but to playfully confront his son, he said, jokingly telling the little one that he was “a liar who lies. That was me!”

When he was seven years old, Culkin starred in Home Alone. Released in 1990, the film has since become a classic and spawned sequels.

The film follows the adventures of a little boy after his parents accidentally leave him home alone while on vacation. At first it’s all good and fun until McCallister is forced to find creative ways to fend off burglars.

Joe Pesci, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Stern and John Heard round out the cast.

Home Alone has become synonymous with the holiday season, which Culkin initially rejected but has only recently embraced.

“It’s very rare for something to encompass such an important day and I’m a part of it,” he said. “It’s more fun to embrace it than fight it.”
