Warriors Injuries: Out of Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody vs. Timberwolves

The Golden State Warriors have received some reinforcements ahead of Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Steph Curry and Draymond Green both returned from absences and brought some star power back to the lineup. But the good injury news didn’t last long as the Warriors lost two players to injury during the game, with wingers Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody both opting out and not returning.

Wiggins has been dealing with an ankle injury for some time and was listed as questionable on the pregame injury report. Steve Kerr admitted that Wiggins probably would have sat out Thursday’s win over the Houston Rockets if Curry and Green hadn’t both been sidelined. Instead, Wiggins not only played but delivered a star performance. Unfortunately, he appeared to suffer further ankle injuries shortly after the start of the second half and was replaced by Lindy Waters III. Wiggins went to the locker room and shortly after, the Warriors ruled him out for the rest of the game.

When the Warriors announced that Wiggins would remain out, they also indicated that Moody would not return to the game. Moody, who appeared to have suffered a knee injury, did not come out of the locker room after halftime. He played seven minutes in the first half.

We’ll have to wait until after the game and possibly into the weekend for an update on Wiggins and Moody. Hopefully the illness is not serious for any player. The Warriors have an off day on Saturday before facing the Wolves again on Sunday.
