Brock Huard blasts a group of Heisman voters and makes the case for Ashton Jeanty over Travis Hunter

The Heisman Trophy finalists will be announced next week. However, it is becoming apparent that it will be a two-player race Travis Hunter And Ashton Jeanty – but FOX analyst Brock Huard had a message for voters.

Huard also competed in the Mountain West Championship Jason Benetti and implored the committee to watch the title games before casting their Heisman votes. Hunter is the favorite to win, but Jeanty is approaching a record year and has helped Boise State to a championship title. The Broncos also face a first-round bye College Football Playoffs.

Of course there are more games tomorrow and a contender – Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel – will also play. Huard said these games are also important and should be part of the voting process.

“I said it before: If you’ve already voted and you’re a Heisman voter…just never vote again. It just doesn’t make sense to me,” Huard said in the fourth quarter. “Get every data point for all these people – for Dillon tomorrow. Get every data point you can.”

Huard then campaigned for Jeanty to win college football’s most prestigious award. The Boise State star is in the midst of a historic season in which he totaled 2,497 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns while adding 119 receiving yards and a touchdown through the air. He’s getting closer now Barry Sanders’ All-time rushing record of 2,628 yards, underscoring Jeanty’s case for the Heisman.

Brock Huard argued that coaches would vote for Jeanty of Hunter, the two-way sensation who had a 1,000-yard season as a wide receiver and had four interceptions as a cornerback. While he acknowledged that Colorado Given the star’s abilities, Huard said the fact that Jeanty led Boise State to a bye in the College Football Playoff should help his case.

“To me … if only the coaches voted, Ashton Jeanty would win the Heisman,” Huard said. “I really believe that wholeheartedly. You know it. Travis Hunter is the most spectacular and dynamic player. But the best player to lead his team to a championship, a playoff, and a bye is this guy. And I love Travis Hunter.”

The four Heisman Trophy finalists will be announced Monday evening. They will then travel to New York for the ceremony on Saturday.
