Hundreds of Vancouver fans are already lining up for Billie Eilish

Taylormania may still be a few days away, but tonight it’s all about Billie Eilish, and people were already lining up in the early hours of the morning to wait for her concert in Vancouver on Tuesday night.

We spoke to some concertgoers and found out how long some people have been waiting.

Eilish fans lined up around Rogers Arena, some wearing numbered paper wristbands indicating when they had arrived.

On a cold, clear and foggy morning in Vancouver, we spoke to a group huddled together in layers. They showed us their wristbands #145. They explained that they were lining up for the spots on the floor, which are general admission (GA) spots. Another concertgoer explained that fans introduced this numbered wristband system.

A spokesperson for Rogers Arena confirmed some of these details, telling Daily Hive that the GA lineup began at Gate 3 at 8 a.m.

“At 4 p.m. we will have staff preparing fans and giving you your wristband,” they added.

“Please note that we do not number the bracelets.”

Daily Hive observed about 200 people when we visited the scene just after 9 a.m., and it’s likely to grow larger as the day goes on. The concert doesn’t start until 7 p.m.

Another excited fan, Hannah Giora, told Daily Hive exactly how long they’ve been waiting. Their group was #151-154.

“We’ve been waiting since 5 a.m., so about five hours so far.”

We asked what they did with the food.

“We brought some snacks with us, but took turns eating breakfast since there were three of us in a group.”

When Daily Hive was on site at Rogers Arena, it was a chilly 3°C and we wondered how Giora and her group were coping with the conditions.

“It’s freezing cold. Some fans handed out hand warmers and we drank hot tea, but it’s still so cold. We have so many layers.”

If Giora is any indication, the people waiting in the cold are real fans of Eilish.

“I’ve been a fan since she released ‘Ocean Eyes.’ I loved her my entire childhood and always looked up to her,” Giora added.

People lined up at the box office hoping for last-minute tickets to be released, and security at Rogers kept people safe. Some also resell their Eilish tickets on StubHub for at least $400 or more.
