Real Madrid will face Liverpool on Wednesday in what could be a must-win game Los Blancos.

With just six points from four games, Real Madrid find themselves in a difficult position and cannot afford to drop points as the team aims for a top-8 finish.

Earlier in this game, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk shared his thoughts on Real Madrid. The Dutchman who has never won against him Los BlancosHe is determined to put an end to his poor record against the reigning European champions.

“When you lose two Champions League finals, I think it’s very, very painful.” he said in a recent media interaction (h/t Irish News).

“I never won against them in my time at Liverpool or as a footballer.

“They have always found a way to win against us in the past and it was difficult. They have fantastic players, a fantastic manager and Wednesday will be no different.” the defense attorney added.

But the Dutchman claims he doesn’t need any extra fuel to prepare for this game, explaining: “I’m not the type of guy that needs extra fuel and extra pain to get better. If you need extra motivation for a Champions League game against Real Madrid, then something is wrong.”

“I don’t feel that at all from the team. I know for myself that I’m really looking forward to it and hope that together with our fans we can make it a special evening.

“I think if we win we qualify for the knockout stages, so there is so much good at stake, hopefully we can get there.” added the Dutchman.

Van Dijk spoke about Real Madrid’s quality as a team and praised their ability to win important games.

“They play against Real Madrid, they have quality players all over the pitch. They are one of the biggest clubs in world football and definitely in Europe in recent years.” he said.

“We stay level-headed and work hard and hope we get a result. It will definitely happen that we will play against very good players, but it is the stage you want to play on.

“I’m really looking forward to Wednesday and we can make it a special night.” he concluded.
