Borussia Dortmund hopes to take the next step towards qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League on Wednesday against Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb.

Having won three of its first four league stage games in the UEFA Champions League, Borussia Dortmund are well positioned to qualify for the knockout stages. Next on the agenda for BVB is a game against Dinamo Zagreb, who have recovered excellently since the 2-9 defeat against Bayern Munich on the first matchday.

The Croatian giants go into Wednesday’s duel with two wins in a row in the Champions League. And they will be hoping to spring a surprise against Borussia Dortmund, who have lost their last six away games in all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund prepared for their trip to Croatia with a 4-0 win over SC Freiburg on Friday. The Black and Yellows delivered probably their best performance in the Bundesliga so far this season. Meanwhile, Dinamo Zagreb suffered a goalless draw against HNK Rijeka.

Nuri Sahin hopes to welcome Serhou Guirassy back into the squad on Wednesday after the striker missed the game against Freiburg due to illness. Emre Can will also return despite missing the last team training session. Karim Adeyemi is likely to miss the game.

Felix Nmecha will be hoping to continue his strong form at Borussia Dortmund, while Maximilian Beier will look to build on his strong performance against Freiburg.

Dinamo Zagreb also has a number of players who could pose a threat to Borussia Dortmund, including talented playmaker Martin Baturina, who has seven assists and two goals to his name this season. Striker Sandro Kulenovic could also prove difficult as he has scored 14 goals so far, including three in the Champions League.
