Everton v Liverpool has been postponed due to weather warnings caused by Storm Darragh, but when could the Merseyside derby be replayed?

The Merseyside derby – the last to be played at Goodison Park – was canceled on Saturday morning as rain and strong winds hit Britain and an amber weather warning was in place for the area.

When could the Merseyside derby be rearranged?

Everton’s new date against Liverpool is likely to depend on whether Arne Slot’s side finish in the top eight of the Champions League. They currently sit at the top of the new 36-club table.

This would guarantee them a place in the round of 16 and the knockout rounds, which take place on the 11th/12th. February and 18/19. to be held in February 2025.

This would mean the game could be played in midweek before Liverpool return to European competition, with the round of 16 taking place on 4/5. March and 11th/12th March 2025 begins.

Should the Reds fail to make it into the top eight, the deadline will become even tighter, as will their promotion to the latter stages of the Champions League.

Another possible option could also be the week starting April 21st, which is between the quarter-final second leg and the semi-final first leg of the Champions League.
