Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore made a flag gesture during the Wolverines’ men’s basketball home game against Iowa on Saturday.

Tony Garcia from the Detroit Free Press captured video from the Crisler Center jumbrotron showing Moore performing alongside Michigan recruit and quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall pick in the class of 2025, while he is in attendance.

The flag display, of course, is a direct nod to Michigan players who paraded at midfield at Ohio Stadium following their massive 13-10 upset win over Ohio State last Saturday.

This led to Ohio State players facing off against the Wolverines and sparked a major postgame confrontation.

Both sides got involved when Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer ripped away the Michigan flag.

The police even used pepper spray to break up the fight.

The Big Ten later fined Ohio State and Michigan each $100,000.

“It’s emotions on both sides that can’t happen,” Moore said, according to Cody Nagel of 247Sports. “Rivalry games get heated, especially this one. It is the largest in the country. So we have to deal with it better. … I brought it up in the locker room. We will address it again. But that affects both sides.”

Obviously, this was a big win for Moore in his first season leading the Wolverine program. After a 15-0 season ended with a national title in 2023 under Jim Harbaugh, Michigan struggled to just 7-5 in 2024 (5-4 in the Big Ten).

However, the Wolverines finished with their fourth straight win over Ohio State. That and the fact that Underwood is transferring his commitment from LSU to Michigan certainly puts Moore in a good mood.

As for this season, Michigan still has one bowl game left. It’s unclear where the Wolverines are headed, but the latest prediction from B/R’s David Kenyon has them playing Oklahoma in the Music City Bowl.
