Zacha’s overtime goal caps the Bruins’ comeback win against the Flyers

The Bruins trailed 3-1 early in the third period, but Frederic cut it to 3-2 at 5:18 by hitting a loose puck that bounced into the slot, and then Marchand tied it at 14:38 3-3 and caught Justin Brazeau’s clearing pass off the wall and running in to beat Kolosov between his pads.

Zacha scored in overtime for the second time in three games, finishing off David Pastrnak’s backdoor feed after keeping the puck in the offensive zone with a fierce forecheck.

“It’s been a long fight around the corner, and I think when you win those fights, you can be a man,” Zacha said. “That’s the one who usually scores. When ‘Pasta’ had the puck on his stick, I tried to just take the lead and it was a great play. But the fight was very important.”

It is the second game in a row in which the Flyers have blown a lead in the third period. They led the Florida Panthers 5-4 on Thursday, but allowed three goals in the final 5:17 of a 7-5 loss.

“We have to learn from our mistakes,” Flyers forward Sean Couturier said. “These are two games where we take stupid penalties, give the other team a chance to come back, and we did that again today.”

Michkov gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 7:24 of the first period. Emil Andrae’s point shot was blocked into the slot, where Couturier lobbed it to Michkov in the right faceoff circle.

The Flyers took a 2-0 lead at 18:24 when Michkov scored on Sanheim’s cross-ice pass.

The goal gave Michkov three consecutive multi-point games (three goals, four assists).

“(Michkov) has a knack for scoring,” Sanheim said. “He wants to score goals, he enjoys scoring goals and he puts himself in a good position to score goals. So that’s exactly the player he is. It’s pretty easy for me to find it when it’s so wide open.” .”
