When will the 2025 Penn State football schedule be announced? The first home date is also coming up

Penn State fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the 2025 conference football schedule. Now we know when that will happen. The Big Ten will announce its next league games on Wednesday. Big Ten Network will televise the release. The show is scheduled to air between 2 and 3 p.m. ET.

The Nittany Lions will open the 2025 season with three consecutive non-conference games, all played at Beaver Stadium. Head coach James Franklin’s State College’s 12th season begins Aug. 30 across from Nevada. It is the first meeting between the schools. Penn State welcomes FIU to town on September 6th. The Lions are 1-0 all-time against the Panthers, having defeated them in 2007. Then on September 13th, PSU hosts Villanova. The last meeting between the two sides took place in 2021.

After these three contests, the Lions begin conference play. Based on a 2023 press release detailing the future Big Ten scheduled through 2028, Penn State will travel there Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, UCLAAnd Rutgers in 2025. It will host Indiana, Nebraska, NorthwestAnd Oregon. Like this year, there will probably be bye weeks again in 2025.

Penn State will face the Ducks on September 27, 2025.

What will the capacity be at Beaver Stadium next fall?

That still needs to be clarified. A $700 million renovation project at the 107,000-seat venue begins this offseason and will be completed by the start of the 2027 season. It is likely that some seats will be lost during the work. But where they are and how many of them are unavailable in total is currently unclear.

Who could be the White Out opponent?

In an age where three television networks compete for the best games every week, there are no longer any guarantees. But unlike when UCLA visited Penn State this year for a game that started at noon ET/9 a.m. PT, we don’t expect the Big Ten to put Oregon in a similar situation. This match is all about primetime and is therefore by far the club’s favorite for the white-out game in 2025.

If there was a betting market for such a question, we don’t think oddsmakers would even bother listing a second option. But if they did, it would probably be Nebraska.
