Forecast by Ben Beddoes | It will be more pleasant before it rains

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Skies will be clear this evening as it will be cold and windy with temperatures dropping into the 30s in the evening. A few clouds may appear at some point overnight, but generally it will be cold, with lows in the mid to upper 30s.

We start Sunday with lots of sunshine and temperatures rising to over 40 degrees by mid-morning. More clouds will move in in the afternoon as it becomes breezy and pleasant. High temperatures for Sunday are expected to be in the mid to upper 50s. The sky will be cloudy towards the evening as we see rain continuing late into the evening and overnight. It will also remain windy, with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Monday starts with a few showers and cloudy skies. It will be mostly dry during the day as the sky is cloudy and isolated showers are possible. It remains windy and we see highs in the mid to upper 50s to around 60s. The sky will remain cloudy into the evening and there may be a few showers. Scattered activity will occur overnight, with lows in the mid to upper 40s across northern and central Kentucky and in the low 50s across southern and southeastern Kentucky.

Tuesday begins with further periods of rain in our region. The widespread rain will become lighter and less abundant through the afternoon as temperatures reach the low to mid 50s, with some areas of southern and southeastern Kentucky reaching the upper 50s. Rain showers will continue into the evening, mixing with a few snow showers overnight. It will be very cold with low temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday will begin with more clouds than sun and isolated snow showers, particularly in southern and southeastern Kentucky. It will be a cold and windy day with highs in the lower to mid 30s and cooler wind temperatures in the 20s. There will be a few clouds in the evening and overnight as it gets very cold, with lows in the lower to mid 20s and cooler winds in the teens.

Thursday will have lots of sunshine with just a few clouds passing by. It will remain fairly cold, with highs only in the mid to upper 30s and wind chills in the 20s. Overnight lows will reach into the low to mid 20s.

It looks to stay dry through the end of next week as we see highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s Friday and next Saturday.
