‘SNL’ Invites Trisha Paytas to Join Sketch About Spotify Wrapped

Internet personality Trisha Paytas made a surprise appearance Saturday Night Live to take part in a sketch about Paul Mescal’s Spotify Wrapped for 2024.

Aside from a few obvious additions like Sabrina Carpenter and Kendrick Lamar, Mescal’s No. 1 song on Spotify “by far” was a rando personality named Satoshi Gutman. Satoshi, played by Bowen Yang, is apparently an “anti-instrumentalist sound guru from Dundalk, Maryland.” Mescal spent over 170,000 minutes listening to him.

Unfortunately, Gutman wasn’t recognized by his friends, played by Andrew Dismukes, Ego Nwodim and Sarah Sherman, so Mescal shared a video of Gutman singing “Y’all Made Me Celibate” while wearing a Targaryen-like wig and goatee wore. Oh, and he calls his fans bastards.

Gutman also has a podcast called awakening that made Mescal’s Spotify Wrapped. While sharing a clip from the podcast, Paytas appears as Gutman’s “iconic” guest.

“Hey bastards!” she shouts.

“What do we always say, Trisha?” asks Gutman. Together they say: “The best purchase is celibacy.”

Sherman exclaims, “This is so crazy,” but Mescal insists that Spotify Wrapped “isn’t about judging people.” It’s about sharing the soundtrack of your life. Call me crazy, but I think this is cause for celebration.”

Gutman and Paytas then appear for a personal visit.
