Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction, Odds and Tips

Trae Young is currently listed as questionable for the Atlanta Hawks’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. The guard currently leads the NBA in assists per game, increasing by 11.9 per game. Despite their best efforts, the team is still 24th in offensive rating over the last 10 games. If he misses tonight’s contest, the Hawks’ offense could struggle against a top-10 team in defensive rating this season. However, Young has been a liability on defense, and with Kobe Bufkin and Vit Krejci possibly picking up his minutes, the Hawks should see significant improvement in that regard.

While the Hawks finished 2nd in the league in pace this season, that was largely due to Young’s style of play. Don’t expect them to play at a similar pace tonight without him creating open looks or getting ahead in transition. The Cavaliers are in the top 10 in the league in opponents’ fast break points per game this season and should be able to force the visitors into a half-court offense. It’s hard to imagine the Hawks doing enough to get things done tonight. The Cavaliers have scored under the combined 240-point mark in each of their last three games, and things should stay the same here.
