Giants’ Malik Nabers will play a “limited role” when he plays against the Saints

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game due to a lingering groin injury and a hip flexor injury that required an MRI earlier this week.

Nabers was not listed on the injury report earlier in the week, but dropped to a limited participant on Thursday and a non-participant on Friday.

“He was just examined by the doctors. He got an MRI. He’s in there with Ronnie (Barnes) right now and they’re not ruling him out right now,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters Friday.

“It happened in practice yesterday. Again, every injury is a little different. I hope he will be ready to play, but I can’t say whether he will be ready to play or not.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Nabers will try to play on Sunday, but it will ultimately be a game-time decision. Even if the rookie gets fit, his role will be extremely limited.

Nabers has been injured multiple times this season and missed two games earlier this year due to a concussion. He also recently admitted that he has had persistent groin problems since his college days.

In 10 games this year, Nabers leads the Giants with 75 receptions for 740 yards and three touchdowns.
