Initial Thoughts – Mizzou Today: Missouri Tigers Football and Basketball Player Recruiting

1. First things first: I was wrong. The Tigers are ready to play with the big boys. I said I’d eat crow, so here we go. I’m willing to accept when I’m wrong. They’re better than I thought.

2. I have to take some credit, though, because I said one way to win was to make it look like 2022 Braggin’ Rights, and that’s exactly what the first half looked like. So many Kansas turnovers and Mizzou was able to capitalize.

3. This was the best college basketball environment I have experienced in a long time. It’s good that all the fans were there, that was great.

4. I worried when the offensive lull would hit, and it did, but the question was whether a 24-point lead would be enough to offset a long losing streak, and the answer was: HARDLY. My goodness, that was closer than it needed to be.

5. Tamar Bates, what a game. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’ve been waiting for THE Tamar Bates game and I think we’ve made it. Along with the 17 players of Mark Mitchell and Aidan Shaw having a few moments, the Kansas City kids really had a game.

6. I added another one after the football team beat Oklahoma. So I’ll do it here too. Congratulations Mizzou fans, you just beat Kansas. Dennis Gates was right about the rankings, the Tigers will likely show up very soon.
