The Alabama football offense plans to enter the transfer portal

Alabama football learned it will not make the College Football Playoff on Sunday, and the offseason opt-outs have already begun.

Second-year offensive lineman Miles McVay plans to enter the transfer portal, his agents Chase Moss and Darren J. Wilson of Quality Control Sports told AL.com on Sunday.

McVay is a former four-star offensive tackle in the 2023 recruiting class from East St. Louis, Illinois. His weight is listed as 6-6, 342 pounds.

As a freshman in 2023, McVay played four games in which he ultimately redshirted. In his second season for Alabama, McVay appeared in all twelve games, mostly on special teams. But he also received some offensive snaps against Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, Missouri, LSU and Mercer.

McVay was the second Alabama player to announce his intentions on Sunday. Receiver Caleb Odom told On3 that he plans to enter the transfer portal on Sunday.

The transfer portal is scheduled to open for 20 days on Monday.

McVay joins Odom, receiver Kobe Prentice, linebacker Keanu Koht, defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis and cornerback Jahlil Hurley as players on this year’s roster looking to enter the portal.
