Aside from the 49ers: Who is out against the Bears?

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir will return for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after missing last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills with a knee injury. Safety Talanoa Hufanga, who only came off injured reserve on Saturday, will also be there. He is returning from a wrist injury and will likely play with a cast over his hand. Their availability provides a much-needed boost to the 49ers’ secondary.

Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles remains questionable with a knee injury but could still play.

Who’s outside?

The 49ers will release their official inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff, but several players have already been ruled out. Some were declared unavailable on Friday, while others were more recent developments.

Linebackers Dre Greenlaw remains on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) but is expected to return soon, possibly for Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

On Saturday, the 49ers placed at running back Jordan Mason He is on injured reserve due to a high ankle sprain suffered against the Buffalo Bills and will likely be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. Surprisingly security George Odum landed on injured reserve with a knee injury that occurred late in the week.

The most significant absence on offense is left tackle Trent Williamswho will miss his third straight game as he continues to recover from an ankle injury. It is unclear whether Williams will play again this season.

“Trent is really trying to get back here,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said last week. “It’s just that his ankle isn’t healing the way we would like. We can’t relieve the swelling and so on.”

On defense, the 49ers officially demoted the defensive end Nick Bosa on Saturday and excludes him. He was initially listed as questionable due to hip and oblique injuries, but this will be his third straight missed game.

Finally he left the station Aaron Banks has failed concussion protocol and will miss his second straight game. On Saturday, the 49ers downgraded him from questionable to out.
