It has not yet been confirmed whether Lioness will return for a third seasonbut based on star Zoe Saldaña’s comments, it certainly seems that there is an intention to do more.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, when asked why she thought she had time in her life to star in Lioness, Saldaña replied: “I wish it was the fact that I had space in my life (laughs) . I signed up for three seasons.” At least, and so you have some kind of contractual obligation to fulfill, but Lioness isn’t just that.

“Lioness was a journey that gave me the opportunity to work with a different kind of filmmaker. Taylor Sheridan is kind of that cowboy who lives on his own off the grid, and that makes a lot of us curious. Either you understand the cadence of his writing and the topics he always wants to talk about, or you don’t.”

The fact that Saldaña has signed on for “at least three seasons” is not surprising, as this is often the case with actors in series that are set to continue. However, it certainly speaks for the intention that at least one more season will be made.

We’ll keep this page updated as we receive more concrete news about the future of the show.
