Beth plays strip poker and Kayce could save the ranch

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13, “Give the World Away,” which premiered Sunday, December 8, on Paramount Network.

It looks like “Yellowstone” is gearing up for one final rodeo, but the show continues to give its audience something: Jamie (Wes Bentley) cries another Woman! The show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, is ripped, shirtless and whining about corn dogs! Beth (Kelly Reilly) is furiously playing strip poker! Read on for our concise overview of the evening’s events:

  • I never understood whether the Duttons were rich as hell or debtors with wild loans. The economics of ranch life make no sense to me!
  • Jamie sits around depressed in his underwear, yelling at the TV… Shouldn’t you be running around making plans or destroying more documents?
  • Of course, Beth saved her brother in her phone as something profane.
  • To get back to the financial question: Beth flies private. Where do they get the money to afford this?
  • I want Walker (Ryan Bingham) to comfort me after my future losses. His conversation with Teeter (Jennifer Landon) is so calming!
  • Okay, since everything in Yellowstone is sold out and Rip (Cole Hauser) tells Ryan (Ian Bohen) that everyone should get new jobs, I think this is really the penultimate episode. Unfortunately, this show ends with a bit of a whimper.
  • Sheridan shows us a little more of his character Travis’ personal life and he is… a drinking, gambling, moderately irresponsible jerk? He seemed all business every other time we saw him…
  • Oh, Travis’ girlfriend is played by Bella Hadid. How did she get on this show?
  • Beth has great courage and asks Travis to help them without commission. I understand that they are going through hard times, but you have to pay people for their work…
  • Come on, Beth – at least stay for corn dogs!
  • Welcome back, Christina (Katherine Cunningham). Long time no see.
  • Wow, Christina’s plan for Jamie to go on the offensive is actually pretty clever.
  • I would definitely watch a prequel series after Young Rip and Young Travis.
  • These announcers are stars. Have them immediately cover other events like the Olympics or Jake Paul’s fights.
  • Turnpike troubadours? Great band! This sale is attracting some real talent…
  • So the season finale (and final episode?) will be John Dutton’s funeral, right?
  • Beth’s solution to grief doesn’t sound all that effective, but it’s very Beth!
  • Highlight of the episode: Beth’s brutal attack on Aaron at the bar.
  • Poor Teeter. She did her best!
  • It’s hard to believe that Kayce (Luke Grimes) came up with this loophole idea. Isn’t this a form of tax fraud?

See you next week, “Yellowstone” fans!
