Jay-Z has denied allegations that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl during an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000.

A federal lawsuit that originally named only Mr. Combs was refiled in federal court on Sunday (Dec. 8). It quotes accuser “Jane Doe” as claiming she was attacked by the two music moguls at the house party and that an unnamed female celebrity was in the room at the time.

In a statement shared on social media, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, called the lawsuit an “extortion attempt.”

Mr. Combs is in prison after being charged in September with sex trafficking and racketeering, to which he pleaded not guilty. He has denied all allegations made against him, including this latest lawsuit.

“You made a terrible error in judgment by thinking all ‘celebrities’ were the same. I don’t come from your moral world. “I am a young man who has made it out of Project Brooklyn,” Mr. Carter wrote in a fiery statement to lawyer Tony Buzbee released Sunday afternoon. diversity Reports.

“We don’t play games like that. We have very strict rules of conduct and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physicists, will believe the idiotic claims you have made against me, which, were it not for the seriousness of harming children, would be ridiculous.”

Mr. Buzbee responded on social media in part: “Mr. Carter has previously denied being the one who sued me and my company. He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym.

“What he fails to mention in his most recent statement is that my office sent a demand letter to his attorney on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never asked for a dime from him. Instead, she simply sought a confidential mediation.

“Since I sent the letter on their behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has also attempted to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His behavior had the opposite effect. She is encouraged. I am very proud of their determination.”

US media reports that the lawsuit alleges that Doe was dropped off at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall by a friend and, since she did not have a ticket, approached various limousine drivers to gain entry.

A driver allegedly told Doe that he worked for Combs and that she “fit what he was looking for.” He then picked her up, the lawsuit says, and dropped her off at a white house with a U-shaped driveway, where she had to sign a document that she believed was a nondisclosure agreement.

The lawsuit said she was given a drink that left her “lightheaded” so she went to a room to lie down. Shortly afterwards, Mr Combs and Mr Carter are said to have entered along with the unnamed female celebrity, the BBC reports.

“The plaintiff immediately recognized all three celebrities,” the lawsuit states.

Mr. Carter allegedly held the plaintiff down and raped her before Mr. Combs did the same, the lawsuit says. It said Ms. Doe fought back during the alleged attack and was able to escape when Mr. Combs backed away in surprise.

A statement from Mr. Combs’ legal team said the amended lawsuit was the latest in a series of “shameless publicity stunts aimed at extorting payments from celebrities who fear lies are being spread about them, as well as Mr. Combs.” was lied to.”

In his statement, Mr Carter, who is married to Beyoncé and has three children with her, said: “My only sorrow is for my family.”

“My wife and I will have to sit down with our children, one of whom is of the age when their friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims and explain people’s cruelty and greed.”

The Independent has reached out to Mr. Carter’s representative for comment.
