These schools included Mother Mary’s School, British School, Salwan Public School, Delhi Public School and Cambridge School.

The series of threats first started against the Delhi Public School of RK Puram and the GD Goenka School of Paschim Vihar. Police said DPS received the threat at 7:06 a.m., while the latter received the email at 6:15 a.m.

The threatening email stated: “I planted several bombs in (school) buildings. The bombs are small and very well hidden. It won’t cause much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs explode. If I don’t.” “If I get $30,000, I will detonate the bombs,” ANI reported.

Meanwhile, the school management took immediate action and sent the students home.

Police along with firefighters, a dog squad, bomb detection squad and local police reached the spot and conducted search operations at the school.

A police official said nothing suspicious has been found with DPS and GD Goenka so far.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia told ANI that it was shocking that the children in the city were not safe. “The BJP has created a climate of fear in Delhi. The law and order situation has collapsed in Delhi…If the national capital is not safe, what is the central government doing? I have never seen such a state of fear in Delhi,” he added.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police Officer Sanjay Tyagi said that the police took immediate action after receiving information about the threatening emails.

“We are ensuring the safety of all the schools and the children and I would like to assure all the parents and the people of Delhi that the police will make all possible efforts to ensure the safety of the children and the school and will ensure the same. “ At the same time, we will soon identify the source of the email and take action against it as well,” Tyagi told ANI.

This incident came just a week after Rohini’s Venkateshwar Global School received a bomb threat via email, which later turned out to be a hoax.

A day earlier, there was a low-intensity explosion in Prashant Vihar, within a kilometer radius of the school. Parents were immediately informed of the situation and the students were sent home.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials checked and searched the entire school premises along with police, bomb disposal squad and dog squad.

It is noteworthy that two months ago, several CRPF schools in the national capital and across the country had received email bomb threats.

The Delhi High Court had on November 19 directed the Aam Aadmi Party-led government and the Delhi Police to develop a comprehensive action plan, including a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), to deal with bomb threats and other such incidents to deal with emergencies.

The court set a deadline of eight weeks for the completion of these tasks. It states that the SOP must define the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders, including school administration, local authorities, police and other law enforcement agencies. There must be smooth coordination and effective implementation of the plans, the court added.

Justice Sanjeev Narula noted that the action plan needs to be developed after consulting relevant stakeholders and state ministries.

Furthermore, the bomb threat at three important locations in Lucknow, in Delhi’s neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh, turned out to be a hoax. An unknown caller had called the UP Police emergency number 112 on Saturday evening and claimed that he had planted bombs at Hussainganj metro station, Charbagh railway station and Alambagh bus stand.

All three locations were thoroughly checked after the call, said Manish Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), headquarters.

There have been several bomb threats in recent days, including against the famous Taj Mahal. In fact, the Mumbai Police had received a threatening message allegedly directed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The WhatsApp message sent to the traffic police helpline on Saturday referred to two ISI agents and a plan to carry out a bomb blast against Prime Minister Modi.
