The 34-year-old Disney influencer dies after a medical emergency at an event in California

A Disney influencer died after attending an event at a venue in California on Thursday. Dominique Brown, co-creator of Black Girl Disney, was 34 years old.

According to BoxLunch, a retailer specializing in merchandise, Brown “suffered a medical emergency at an event” the company was hosting at Vibiana in Los Angeles. “Our thoughts are with her family and friends and we will do everything we can to support her and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time,” the statement continued. Brown’s cause of death is currently under investigation.

After a trip to Disney World, Brown co-founded Black Girl Disney in 2018. “Like most things that lack representation, new platforms arise out of the need to see yourself,” the website says. “We wanted to create a space where we were not only represented, but CENTERED! As a result, @BlackGirlDisney was born!”

Brown was a regular at influencer events hosted by Disneyland and was invited by Disney to film premieres in LA. She was recently invited to the premiere of “Moana 2” at the El Capitan Theater.

In Brown’s last Instagram post, her brother Patrick Ramos left a comment “to thank her social media following for showing her so much love and light.”

“Disney brought her joy, but the fact that she found a community that loved her and Disney as much as she did was unprecedented,” Ramos wrote. “I will miss my sister and best friend and the infectious smile she always had.”
