A YesMadam employee claimed she was among those fired after a screenshot of an email saying the company had “parted ways” with employees who admitted in a survey conducted by the company itself Suffering from stress at work.

The incident sparked major backlash online.

According to the viral email, which was reportedly sent by YesMadam’s human resources manager, the company had conducted a survey to measure employees’ stress levels and decided to fire those who said in the survey because of their work “significant to feel “stress”.

In a post on LinkedIn, Anushka Dutta, a UX copywriter at the Delhi-NCR-based home salon service, revealed that she was one of around 100 employees who were laid off following the survey.

“What’s happening at YesMadam? First you do a sample survey and then fire us overnight because we feel stressed? And not just me, 100 other people were laid off too,” she said in the post.

The viral email from YesMadam HR reads:

“Dear team,

We recently conducted a survey to find out how you feel about stress at work. Many of you expressed your concerns, which we deeply appreciate and respect.

As a company committed to promoting a healthy and supportive work environment, we carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed in the workplace, we made the difficult decision to separate employees who were experiencing significant stress.

This decision comes into effect immediately and the affected employees will be informed separately about further details.

Thank you for your contributions. Kind regards, HR Manager, YesMadam”

However, India Today could not independently verify the authenticity of the viral screenshot of the email.
